Come home with One Voice and ignite your winter holidays with an unexpected and eclectic celebration of music and poetry.

A Midnight Queer, a non-traditional holiday concert explores images of “light” and “home” from diverse cultural traditions. The concert, based on a Lessons and Carols format, weaves “lessons” (writings by local LGBT writers and spoken word artists) with music from holiday traditions including Chanukah, Kwanza, Pagan Solstice, Diwali (Hindu festival of lights), Mawlid an-Nabi (Sufi birth of Mohammed), and Christmas. The concert includes sing-along songs and a pick-up chorus of community singers who will join One Voice on stage for musical selections.

Your holiday programming worked brilliantly. There were songs for Christmas, Solstice, Kwanza, Chanukah, Yule and Sufi Moslem traditions. None of the pieces were watered down. Each proudly presented its own tradition. Together they were more than the sum of the individual holidays. They presented a multi-faceted celebration of a holiday season.
